1958. On Madision Ave stationary. Dated Sept 26 1958. Denies any previous relations with Professor Harold Laski. With original envelope. Financier Bernard M. Baruch (1870-1965) made his fortune on Wall Street, becoming a millionaire by age 30. An influential advisor to U.S. Presidents from Woodrow Wilson to Lyndon Johnson, Baruch was appointed Chairman of the War Industries Board by President Wilson in 1918 and advised FDR on economic mobilization during WWII. Appointed by President Truman to the International Atomic Energy Commission, he proposed the famous "Baruch Plan" (1946) for international control of atomic weapons and fissionable materials. His autobiography, Baruch: My Own Story, detailing his early years and Wall Street career was published in 1957.
